ReBuilding Exchange Helps Ex-Offenders Get A Job, Recycles Old Houses In The Process
Ken Ortiz, TRP's Chicago Regional Manager, was featured in this great article on Huffington Post. Ken formed a partnership with the ReBuilding Exchange in Chicago to promote deconstruction and building material salvage, and to create employment opportunities. Their partnership has expanded to include other Chicago nonprofits to help unemployed and unemployable workers find jobs and training in the green industry."Perhaps most importantly, 82 people have completed their training with the Exchange and ReUse People. Ortiz currently employs more than 40 of them at ReUse People, while others have gone on to work at for-profit companies or, like Cotton, to related jobs."
