West Coast Green
A Conference for Professionals and the Public |
| By Ted Reiff |
| |
|
I attended West Coast Green last year and was so impressed that I immediately decided to have a TRP booth at the conference this year. Believe me, this is not a typical home show featuring more mops and cooking utensils than professionals with innovative products and services.
If you are trying to learn more about green building, what makes a structure, product or practice "green," or just want a day filled with the fun of discovery, be sure to put this expo on your calendar. Not only is West Coast Green a trade show, but Saturday September 22 is designated "Homeowner Day," with the public having full access to the exhibit floor.
Last year -- the first year it was held -- over 9,000 people visited the expo, and this year at least 13,000 are expected. This is a national show with people and exhibitors from all over the country -- over 250 exhibitors with the most up-to-date information and technology available. In addition, 100 plus experts will be presenting the latest ideas, designs and professional knowledge.
The beauty of West Coast Green is that it is geared both to green-building industry professionals and homeowners. Professionals will learn the benefits of offering green building to clients, receive continuing education credits for AIA, IIDA, NAHB and others, learn how to improve their bottom lines and get previews of new projects. Homeowners will learn how to remodel green, find green funding sources, interview and select green contractors, and develop criteria for purchasing green products and services.
By the way, TRP will be in Booth #13, and I will be speaking on Thursday afternoon, September 20 in room 315. My topic is Creating Green Business for the Not So Faint of Heart.
See www.westcoastgreen.com for more information.

| New Inventory |

The Oakland warehouse has more new lumber. We recently received three semi-loads of lumber and our yard is once again filled to the brim. Especially nice are 1x12 redwood paneling and beautiful open trusses received from an Atherton home.
The Boulder warehouse recently received lots of lumber, TJI's, glulam beams and trusses, as well as Pella and Hurd wood-framed, insulated windows in all shapes and sizes. |
